Our small multi-disciplinary team seeks to promote the mental health of infants and pre-schoolers from pre-birth to 4 years of age. Parent and Infant Mental Health service (PIMHS) aims to support professionals to understand and help parents and carers strengthen the bond between them and their infants, in order to promote healthy child development both emotionally and socially.
We work largely through providing consultation to health professionals such as Health Visitors and Social Workers. We also offer time limited direct work to parents and infants in circumstances where there is a need for parent-infant psychotherapy. This work prioritises infants under the age of two. We co-run Circle of Security Parenting Groups in children’s centres in collaboration with children’s centre staff.
Our service is based in Norwich however, our team works across Norfolk and Waveney.
